As I pulled into the main station of Münster I must confess that I was swimming in a pool of thoughts. "How long will it take to learn a new city? How will my internship turn out?" but probably the biggest questions on my mind were in concern of the host family. "How long will it take to adjust to living with new people? Will this situation have more involvement with the host family? Will this feel Like home?"
Well I am ecstatic to say all my worries, over the host family atleast, were eliminated within minutes, NO more like seconds of getting off the train. As We pulled into the station I moved to the doors to offload my heavy suitcases. I glanced out the window as the train slowed to see an odd sight on the platform, a rather large American Flag. With a smile, and some help from a fellow passenger, I lowered my bags from the train and climbed down. Before I could even start walking I heard a familiar voice calling my name. I walked towards it and was met by my Host Parents; Andreas and Erika. I expected the usual formalities; How was your trip? Welcome to Münster.
Now I had been warned that these were some of the best hosts that participants ever had, but I wasn't exactly prepared for what actually happened. Instead of fallowing the formalities, as written in my head, they completely surprised me. They hugged me, as if I was their long lost son, and instead of saying welcome to Münster, they said Welcome Home. With these simple actions all my worries were dissolved. Then as we road the bus towards the house they informed me that the whole family Plus beloveds were waiting on me at the house.
It was a wonderful evening I immediately felt welcome and at home. Sadly genius me didn't think to get the family portrait, but there will be one to come. For now a list of names and relation;
Andreas- Father
Erika- Mother
Felix- Older Brother
Yola- Felix Beloved
Simon- Younger Brother
Jasmine- Simons Beloved
The rest of the week was essentially just getting to know the City. Sunday was a guided tour of the city with my host mom and fellow history buff of a host dad.
St. Joseph church
The Promenade
Use to be the wall around Münster, now its the bicycle highway
Speaking of Bikes heres my method of transportation

WWII fallout shelter
Town hall or Rathaus
Monday I was introduced to my supervisor for my internship. Followed by a solo ride through town. Tuesday was a ride with fellow PPPler Bri. (many pictures of her to come as well) Thursday was German reunification day and a national holiday, so I tagged along with Bri and her host family for another tour of the city and the town museum. Friday had an adventure after some violin strings.
Saturday ended the week with a day of sports and rest. 5 hours of foosball and then a boxing match. I will admit that foosball is starting to grow on me maby its just because the strategy is actually being explained.
